Day 3: Artwork Composition #3

Yet another variant of the ‘Paradise’ cover art has surfaced…

After playing around with my ideas with my second composition, some of them formed a different concept for the piece. My idea for this variant is oriented towards the concept of “infinity,” another heaven-like attribute to paradise. There is a single element in this variant that is shared from my second composition: image duplicating.

I started by making another copy of the original project file to work in. The first thing I did was to make the text layer invisible so that I could work with the background image. I duplicated the image in the same scale before downsizing to my preference and positioned it in the center. I repeated this process with each duplicate image, essentially using each duplicate layer as a frame around the one in front of it until the final dupe. In the final duplicate, about 1/9 as large as the original, I framed it with white and gave it the same glowing effect as the text which I downsized to fit inside the final duplicate. The completed piece appears to be an image with a frame with frames around it… if that makes any sense. I’m still trying to figure out a way to SHOW you at least some of the process in a timelapse. So far, nothing -_-

Ladies and gents, the completed piece

This variant took me about 45 minutes to complete because I was having some issues with the snap-to-grid feature, so I had to eyeball it after my persistent attempts to snap to the grid. I think it’s time to bring out some other concepts for the artwork, so don’t sleep.
