Day 7: Artwork Composition #5
I’ve designed another Off-White inspired design.
The legendary Off-White “Mona Lisa” hoodie takes the cake as it influenced my work on this design. Like composition #4, the design is quite simple but I feel that this one has a little bit more “flavor” in it.
As usual, I started with the 3000x3000px artboard and colored it black. I liked the idea from composition #4 with the ‘L’ shaped segments for the box effect, so I started by putting those in each corner of the artboard. My next idea was to use the initial cloud photo from compositions 1-3, but instead of mimicking the tape holding up the image, I made a white frame around it to add some contrast against the black background. Then I added the song title above the image instead of below just to make it distinct from the design on the hoodie. I also liked the inscription I used in composition #4 which I placed in the bottom left corner. I wanted to make the colors pop more, so I changed the font color for the song title from white to blue like it is on the hoodie. That’s it! Here’s another timelapse of the composition:
To be honest… I like this one better than comp 4
After some rescaling and resizing for a sharper appearance, here is the final product. This one took me about an hour with the time spent brainstorming ideas. I think this one is my favorite so far.
